It is absolutely amazing how Honeywell has managed to totally and completely piss of every one of their dealers of fire and burglar alarm products.
Their latest Fuck Up
No longer supporting SD Protocol style devices
When the first Silent Knight Addressable panels came out they used SD Protocol which was basically Hockiki devices which where relabeled as Silent Knight.
Then the more convenient SK device came out used System Sensor Protocol so when you bought a panel you could specify SD or SK
So now you are screwed if you have a customer who has an older SD Protocol setup you can no longer get parts from Silent Knight and customers are looking at thousands of dollars to replace panels and devices.
Can regular Hockiki devices work? still unknown but it might be a work around.
Plus the 6800 series of panels have been a unmitigated disaster already they have had to fix firm ware 4 times and many panels are dead out of the box or with in day of installing them.
that's why so many dealers have gone over to Potter where older Silent Knight engineers went after Honeywell bought and screwed up the line.
