A beautiful new park in 2021 Quaker Falls in Lawrence County Pa. which has a very dangerous and deadly safety issue.

I have traveled across this  bridge on US-224 as it passes thru Mahoning Twp. Right near the Pa and Ohio Border and never realized what a beautiful and spectacular  water falls was below it.

But as you can see in the bottom photo you can walk up to a very high ledge directly off the parking lot and there is no safety cable or railing just 2 signs warning you to stay back and its close to a 70 foot fall

I have never seen a park like this with out safety railings and with all the incidents or people falling into the falls and run  they have over at Nearby McConnels Mill state park which has railings to keep people away who ignore them,   you would think they would have safety cables or railings in place.

I can see a young family pulling into the lot a young child getting out of the car and running directly for the ledge before their parents get out and going over the ledge.and it slants down towards the edge or even the family dog .

I have sent messages to the County Commissioners about my concerns and they hope to have railings

installed in the Spring since they have applied for funding which is good news

If you do go to the park please keep in mind this poorly marked and unsecured drop off .
