Verification Feature on Older 5204 and 5207 Silent Knight Fire Panels seem to be failing . Why you may want to turn it off.

The 5204 and 5207 fire panels by Silent Knight have been around since the 1980s and they have been real Work Horses .

Unfortunately as they now are getting over 30 years old I am starting to see the Verification Feature which delays the alarm from falsing do to dust or kitchen smoke  are not working properly .

How verification is suppose to work is smoke detector activates then powers down and then resets and re powers and of it see a 2nd activation in less than 120 or less seconds it then puts panel into full alarm .

But lately I am finding panels taking well over 2 minutes to go into alarm or not at all.

To prevent issues I turn Verification off and each and every time I get an alarm.

Either the smoke detectors are getting old and not latching and sending proper signal or panels going bad .

I have reached out to Honeywell and not gotten a response and usual answer will be replace panel .

Do you have a 5204 or 5207 panel at your business or apartment get it checked and possibly turn off verification.
